Praise & Worship Ministry
Philosophy of the Music Ministry
Music is a fundamental tool utilized in many instances to create an atmosphere. The Refuge believes that the praise and worship sets the atmosphere for each person in attendance to invite and usher in the presence of God. We also believe that this prepares the congregation for the Word to be given.
As a leader in the ministry, we have the responsibility to live a lifestyle that communicates an attitude of worship, This is an enormous responsibility! By parterning with this ministry and taking on this leadership role you allow God to move in the service to reach the lives of people who are seeking salvation, healing, and deliverance. Your expression of love and adoration for God is communicated so clearly through the act of worship. It is our sincere desire that through your leadership and worship people will be drawn into the presence of God.
Standard of Excellence
When you make a choice to do something that you are truly passionate about, you want to do your very best. Commiting to this ministry is no different. We hope that through all activities surrounding this ministry, you will strive to do all things with excellence.
As a member of this team, choir, band, front line, etc., we are expected to set an example in all we do. Your personal time outside of the church is no different, A standard of excellence can only be achieved when giving 100% and choosing not to complain, gossip, or produce negativity. Positive Christ-like attitudes and flexibility are absolutely a necessity for every member.
1 Peter 1:13-16 (NIV)"Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at His coming. As obediate children, do not conform to evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as He who called you is Holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be Holy because I am Holy". This scripture out that we are commanded to follow a standard of holiness. Your choice to give excellence does not stop at the stairs of the platform. it follows you wherever you go. This leadership role requires you to live the "Glass House" mentality. People will be watching you, and with that you must be prepared to exemplify God wherever you go.
